Are Credit Card companies starting to have the pinch? We all know that the Greeting card companies make their money by charging us interest about the money we borrow. With all the 0% balance move offers that we have seen during the last few years its no wonder these businesses are concerned they aren't making anything. Many customers who take advantage of those offers move once the 0% time period has expired. These credit card companies are now using smart tactics to seize back a chunk of money they have lost through these deals. One from the ways they are doing this is by reducing the eye free period, meaning you have less time for you to pay the balance off. If you don't repay it by the time your 0% period ends you're charged interest backdated to when you made the total amount transfer. If you do find yourself in this predicament and you choose to transfer the outstanding balance to another 0% card you'll unfortunately now be charged a fee to make the transfer by the Card
Company you'd the original offer with. These are all tactics that are now used to make sure the Credit card issuers make some money off of a person. Here are some points that may enable you to beat the new rules that are now being implemented plus other ways to save in your Credit Card fees: o The most obvious advice that may be given is to be disciplined and try to repay the full balance off every 30 days. o If you fall in the remaining 85% of us that aren't able to do this then you should choose a Credit Card that has a reduced transfer rate which stays low regardless of how long it take to repay the balance. o If you are at risk of exceeding your credit limit and becoming charged £ 25 then contact your Card provider and obtain an increase on your limit. Generally they will fall over themselves to get this done. Once you are back on you get the amount reduced. Remember self-discipline! o Whatever you do avoid withdrawing cash out of your credit card. These services w
ill set you back from 2% upwards of the quantity drawn. o Set up a direct debit. This can prevent you from ever being billed a late payment fee. Even if this really is for the min balance due each month. This is one of the biggest money makers for Credit card issuers. o Don't take out Credit Card safety. It's not worth it and its overvalued for what you get. This is really a topic for another article. My guidance, steer clear. o Avoid using your Charge card abroad. This is a sneaky method for charges to be implemented. The rate of exchange isn't always the best and you get charged for that convenience of using your card inside a foreign country. o Don't be fooled into applying for credit cards that offers cash back and devotion points. While some may be good most expect you to spend large amounts before you decide to even qualify for any significant cash return. The incentives may be high however so is the APR. We all need Credit Cards for daily living to get by so advising
on lacking them is ridiculous. All we may say is be disciplined. Keep a detailed eye on your fees and costs and manage them very closely. Check you balance statement each month. Fraud is rife at the moment so do not get caught out.
